Our Locale

This week I joined a new social network called Our Locale. I know, you're probably thinking: "Really, another new social media thing?!" Yes, but this one is about advancing and connecting people in the local food movement. How could I resist?

I think there's potential here to connect people like me (eaters) with growers, makers, and grassroots policy movers and shakers. I've volunteered to be the admin for the Our Locale Connecticut Group.

Our Locale was created by Top10Produce, a company offering traceability labeling for small growers. There's a decent company overview on Wikipedia.

The network was started a year ago but they've only just started moving ahead with it, so it's still in it's infancy. If you get a chance check it out. Let's make it a great resource and place to connect, no matter what state we're in. And, if you have any ideas for the CT group let me know.
