Honey Harvest Celebration

Bees are amazing creatures and are pretty important too. Most of the food on our tables is thanks to pollination from bees. And, well, the side products they make, like honey, royal jelly and beeswax are just as amazing. With that in mind, it only seems appropriate to celebrate the bees and local honey.

Red Bee Apiary will be toasting this year's honey harvest with a Talk, Tour and Tasting. There will be a private tour of the Red Bee apiary and gardens and owner Carla Marina Marchese will demonstrate the honey harvest process. The tour will be followed by a tasting of seven single-origin honeys and pairings using locally-sourced cheeses and breads and fresh herbs from the Red Bee garden.

Jeff Marron, co-owner of Saugatuck Grain & Grape, will be creating special honey-inspired cocktails and liqueurs for the menu. He will explain how he blends tasting notes to create the perfect honey-inspired cocktails.

After the tasting guests are invited to stay and indulge in a chocolate honeycomb fondue around a bonfire.
